Nurses in intensive care units (ICUs) look after some of the sickest people in hospitals, and experience a variety of stresses. Samantha Jakimovich is a PHD student in the faculty of health at the University of Technology Sydney. Her research is looking at the compassion fatigue and satisfaction levels of nurses working in ICUs to work out what is contributing to them burning out.
