Sydney Urban Designer Nominated For NSW Young Australian of the Year

HY William Chan is not your average urban designer. He has been nominated for NSW Young Australian of the Year for his inspiring work creating change.

In one of his recent projects he challenged the way people think of refugee camps, not just temporary emergency spaces, but future cities. Innovation hubs.

He co-created a project with young refugees at a Greek refugee camp that teaches refugees to design and use plastic waste for 3D printing.

On top of all this he is also an award winning surf life-saver teaching surf safety to more than 2,000 refugees and migrants.

William Chan joined Marlene on the Weekend Breakfast Show to discuss his nomination.
