In Coversation with Ben Quilty | Art Gallery of NSW
Ben Quilty has become one of Australia’s most acclaimed contemporary artists.
His paintings have been described as turbulent, raw, and he draws inspiration from everything from his experience as a war artist in Afghanistan war to depicting certain aspects of the Australian bush.
Until February, the Art Gallery of NSW is presenting the first major survey exhibition in a decade of one of Quilty’s works.
Amelia Navascues spoke with Ben to unpack some of the ideas involved in his creative process.
