The war in Syria has now continued into its 9th year with many fearing the recent escalations could worsen the situation for surrounding countries and its people. Turkey has sent more troops to hold their position on Idlib as Syria continues to push through the front lines. Aid workers have been warned to keep away from the region as an “unprecedented catastrophe” may unfold.

 Associate Professor Mehmet Ozalp from the Centre for Islamic Studies and Civilisation joined us to discuss the impacts of this battle.
