New York’s Kyle Forester has been a trusted sideman in bands like Woods, Crystal Stilts and Ladybug Transistor for a number of years now, but he steps out on his own for the 2nd time on ‘Hearts in Gardens’. Much like his solo debut, Forester is drawn to breezy underground folk of the 70s, and 80s jangle-pop of the Dunedin sound. It’s a lushly produced record, generous with echoey guitars, vintage synths, and well-timed horn embellishments. Prior to this release, Forester was in the studio with David Berman’s band on his final ‘Purple Mountains’ release.

RVG have been carefully rendering their live show since their 2017 debut ‘A Quality of Mercy’, scoring international support slots for Sleaford Mods and Shame, while in Australia with Kurt Vile and the Pixies’ on their upcoming headline tour. Recently signing to Fire Records (ex. AU/NZ), they band have shared ‘I Used to Love You’, the second cut from forthcoming album ‘Feral’ due out in April. Brimming with raw emotion, ‘I Used to Love You’ showcases RVG razor-sharp songwriting skills and an urgent energy parallel with their live performances.
