Dictionary of Sydney – Remove your dead

Recently we have seen the state government resume whole streets and blocks for the Sydney Metro and Westconnex.

However, the State government reclaiming land is not a new phenomenon. In this week’s Dictionary of Sydney chat historians share the story about the exhumation of the Devonshire Street cemeteries nearly 120 years ago.
