Commemorating ANZAC Day in Isolation
Tomorrow, Australians around the country will pause to commemorate ANZAC day and the brave sacrifice made by those who have served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations throughout the years. But this year’s commemoration will be distinctively different to what we are used to.
There will be no dawn service for the public to gather at, no marches, no ceremonies – instead, we will be honouring our countries’ fallen heroes from our homes, with many hosting dawn services in driveways or balconies, making Anzac biscuits in our kitchen and connecting with people from afar.
We were joined by Amanda Dennett, Head of the Digital Experience at the Australian War Memorial to discuss how we can commemorate ANZAC from self isolation.
