U.S. President Barack Obama has used his final State of the Union address to reinforce America as the leading nation in the world committing to rooting out and destroying terrorism. He has also used the occasion to reject the anti-immigration rhetoric across the U.S. His message is being widely interpreted as a swipe at Republican frontrunner Donald Trump, whose latest polls put him well ahead of the pack in the run-up to the first Republican primary early next month in New Hampshire – despite widespread condemnation of his inflammatory views on immigration.
