Australia’s ANZAC Legend

Military history, primarily through the ANZAC legend, is at the core of Australian national identity. As a result, the way we view our current Australian Defence Force is very much tied to this mythology.

With a recent inquiry into the conduct of Australian soldiers in Afghanistan alleging horrifying war crimes, revulsion has been felt across the country. With this in mind, how does the ANZAC legend tie into how we react to these recent revelations?
