Coming up on Curved Radio this Sunday 13th December, Gayle speaks with UK based musician, Esbe about her new album, ‘Saqqara’ and shares a couple of gorgeous tracks from it. Saqqara is the oldest necropolis pyramid in Egypt and its silhouette became the inspiration to record a collection of songs recollecting images of the art and artefacts Esbe saw en route down to Aswan.

Author and songwriter, Janie Conway-Herron  also joins Gayle to chat about her new project of a novel and collection of songs, ‘Another Song about Love’. ‘Another Song About Love’ opens in the burgeoning music scene of 1980s Melbourne, when Lillie Bloom and her friends, Wendy and Anna, form a rock band. It’s a time when roles for women are undergoing great change and ideals of romantic love and the nuclear family are being challenged.

Gayle also spins some fab music from Áine Tyrrell featuring Emily Wurramara, The Clash, Moussa Diakite and Wassado, Mark-Almond, Cocteau Twins, the new release from Thom Yorke, Burial & Four Tet, the jazz legend Betty Carter and Young Marble Giants!
