Gravitational waves are real! What are they?
If you’re a scientist you’ve probably had been up all night with excitement with the news that gravitational waves have been recorded for the first time. Since Albert Einstein’s famous theories of relativity in 1915, scientists have long suspected gravitational waves were real, however this is the first piece of direct evidence that proves they exist.
Australia has also had a hand in helping detect these waves. To find out more about this exciting discovery and what it could mean, we talk to our favourite Astronomer and Outreach Officer at the Australian Astronomical Observatory, Amanda Bauer!
