The Monday Daily’s Local Gig Guide
For the third instalment of the Monday Daily’s local gig guide, Oscar and Jarred gave a recap of some of the shows they caught on the weekend and discussed some of the must-see gigs coming up this week:
Floodlights 8/1
Coming up first this week is Floodlights at the Lansdowne Hotel, they’ll be promoting their new album What a view which serves up a a distinctly Australian perspective, with a shambolic, catchy sound that melds 80s alternative rock with 90s New Zealand jangle-pop. They’ll be playing 2 Shows, one at 6.30pm and the other at 9.30pm, the shows will also be seated with social distancing enforced.

Sunday Setlists
On Sunday there’s an action packed day from 1:30-10:30, with another edition of Sunday Setlists at the Factory theatre with three local outfits: Red Revel, an explosion of jazz-funk anthems, Indie rock n roll big dogs, The Spooked Kooks and China Tiger a band that boldly fuses alternative pop, psychedelia and indie rock, I’ve been listening to their first single Belly button on repeat, undoubtedly an absolute tune.
Now after that, Sydney Reggae/psychedelic rock band Orange Passiona will be gracing the stage, if you’re fan of Lime Cordiale or Ocean Alley you’ll love them, followed by Petiguana, whose neo-soul driven grooves must not be missed…. And finally the Jordan Kenny Band, an artist who presents a folky quirkiness and poetic voice.
