We Need To Angwirri About The 26th January
Angwirri is a word from the First Nations language Yaygirr and it means, ‘begin to talk’. It’s also the name of the vibrant artwork that adorned the sails of the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday the 26th of January. The artist responsible is Frances Belle Parker, a proud First Nations and Yaegl woman. Parker joined Thursday Daily host Stef Posthuma to talk about the layers of significance behind the work.
