Where do truck drivers go if not the road?
In a country classified as the second driest in the world, it is essential that supplies reach areas with little accessibility. Australian truck drivers working around the clock are not only expected to meet such demands, but to do so under conditions challenging both their road safety and mental health.
Despite a decrease in fatalities involving heavy trucks last year, the truck industry remain as one of Australia’s deadliest and unhealthiest.
In a program launched this year by the Oz Help Foundation and from people within the industry, Health In Gear is a support program developed to improve a better well being and health for truck drivers.
