Fast Radio Bursts

Fast Radio Bursts are a modern Astronomical mystery first discovered in 2007. While there are a few accepted theories about how they are formed, little to no information is known on exactly where they originate from. Adding to the enigma, most FRBs emit irregularly, except one that emits once every 16 days. Many astronomers are researching what these strange radio emissions are, how they can be used to help other astronomical research, and what they could tell us.

Thursday Daily producer Cameron spoke to astronomer and Macquarie University Postgraduate researcher Lachlan Marnoch about this cosmic enigma.
