Lockdown Blame Game: Looking at Strawmen or the System?

Last July, when Victoria entered lockdown, a salacious story spread round. Apparently, one of the hotel quarantine guards was sleeping with a guest. The theory was that this was how COVID-19 spread into the community.

It felt great in the moment to play the lockdown blame game, but the trouble was that it wasn’t true. Whenever lockdowns have been enforced in Australia, there is a narrative that it is the individuals fault. But what about a broader look at our systems and institutions?
