As we’ve seen in the media for a long time now, sexual assault, violence and harassment against women is sadly one of the most prevalent crimes facing us today. Every woman, knows somebody who has a story. But often, when a loved one approaches us and tells us that they’ve been assaulted, we can be left unsure of how to react, how to navigate the conversation and how to offer the best support possible. On this episode of Yours Mine & Femme, we reached out to an expert on this topic, to walk us through the process of supporting a friend. Beth Tracey was joined by Hannah Taylor from 1800 Respect, the National Sexual Assault and Domestic Family Violence Counselling Service to discuss how to have this type of conversation.
‘Yours, Mine & Femme’ is a segment in which we put a spotlight on issues affecting women of all ages, cultures, sexualities and abilities. To catch up on past YMF episodes or to make sure you don’t miss a story, follow us on Instagram and Twitter @YMF_2SER
