Technologically Appropriate
While we all love our technology, we have to admit it’s not always beneficial to people or the environment. In developing countries specifically, technologies are often rolled out without consultation of the community. While these technologies are created to improve the quality of life, this doesn’t always work, which is why Dr Peter Logan says we have to make technology appropriate to its environment, culture and community.
Dr Logan, a Visiting Fellow for the School of Mathematical and Physical Science at UTS, joined us now to talk about appropriate technology in developing countries.
