Recently the government decided against merging various Art schools in Sydney.
With more Australians attending art galleries than football games every year, you would think special consideration would be given for the proposed changes to SCA UNSW Art and Design and NAS for a centralised art school in Sydney.
Around a quarter of all Australians make art or engage in artistic creativity, yet the effectiveness of these schools are up for discussion.
Today we spoke to visual artist Bronwyn Bancroft, SCA Alumni, to explain the importance of art school autonomy.
