Sugar may inhibit brain development
We have all heard the damages that sugar can cause to our bodies and to our teeth. However, a new study that was conducted has discovered that sugar can actually be as damaging to the brain as extreme stress or abuse.
The study found that the sugar changes the way the functions and develops both emotionally and cognitively. The effects were found to be as extensive as that caused by stress.
The Daily spoke to one of the researchers on this study, professor Margaret Morris, head of pharmacology at UNSW to discuss more on this issue.
