The Case Against CSG Mining
Imagine you’re sitting at home one morning, cup of tea in hand admiring the rolling pastures of your acreage (not easy to imagine in Sydney, I know) when there’s a knock on your door. A big corporation has decided there’s something valuable under your land they want to get at, and they’re going to drill a bunch of holes until they find it – and there’s nothing you can do about it. It’s a reality for a lot of farmers battling the CSG mining companies and there’s claims it’s unfair and we don’t understand the full range of consequences.
We spoke with Queensland Senator Glenn Lazarus, who is leading an inquiry into unconventional gas mining.
