At the beginning of the 20th century, psychics and fortunetellers cast a spell on the Australian population. After a boost in popularity in other western countries, fortune-telling became both an exciting craze and an extremely lucrative industry for Australian women.
However, the excitement was short-lived as strong laws and an elaborate police operation led to its subsequent fall a short time later.
