SETI and Alien Life
Are we alone in the universe? Its a question we have asked ourselves for centuries. Could there be intelligent life out there in space, and if so, how could we find them? This is the mission of the SETI Institute.
Since 1985 SETI, an acronym for the ‘Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence’, has been scanning the stars for evidence of alien life. While it hasn’t found aliens yet, the work SETI does is crucial for discovering if we aren’t alone in the universe.
Jonti Horner is a Professor of Astrophysics at the University of Southern Queensland and joined 2SER to talk about SETI and how we might find life on other planets.
