Does Paracetamol during Pregnancy Cause Behavioral Issues in Children?
A journal published last week in JAMA Pediatrics caused a stir when it suggested a link between the use of Paracetamol during pregnancy, and behavioral issues in children around the age of 7. Many news sources took this to mean that taking Paracetamol can lead to hyperactive and otherwise badly-behaved children – but is this really the case? Is there a noticeable link between the two, or is it simply another case of media sensationalism?
To debunk the findings of the journal we spoke to Norman Saunders, Professorial Fellow in Neuroscience at the University of Melbourne.
