East Africa on the brink of Famine
In East Africa the global effects of the war in Ukraine is being even more keenly felt.
Basic food like maize is up 80% in Somalia.
In South Sudan, petrol prices have gone up 300% in the last 6 weeks and half of the population has been displaced due to flooding of the White Nile. Neighbouring countries face the prospect of a continuing drought affecting Somalia, eastern Kenya, Ethiopia and Eritrea.
