NTEU Strike at UTS as rolling industrial action hits Universities
Staff at UTS say that like others in the sector, they have had enough. They feel that staff reductions are being effected through stealth by using casual hours and ‘redundancies’ to run down staffing levels. Yet Universities are filling up again and those that are working are overwhelmed with the tidal wave of work with no co-workers to help.
The NTEU says that enterprise agreements in WSU are working but that most Universities are stonewalling in the enterprise agreement negotiations.
