Basketball is growing in popularity right throughout Australia. As the first and largest private basketball association in Australia, Sydney Basketball League (SBL), was founded in 1997 and operated with over 170 teams and 1200 players, officials, and referees. SBL currently plays out of 12 locations with several divisions. Organising basketball games throughout Sydney and developing the basketball industry, SBL seems to deliver a shot-in-the-arm for our sports industry at a time we need it most. Here was to talk with the General Manager of SBL, Mitchell Gambin, about the history and operation of the SBL.
