Closing the Gap shows mixed progress across 18 targets
The recently released Closing the Gap report of 2022 reveals that out of 18 targets, four targets are on track, and four are getting worse.
It will be the first report since the national agreement on Closing the Gap took effect in 2020, aimed at working collaboratively to improve outcomes for Indigenous Australians.
Although many claim that issues such as the high incarceration rates and low labour participation rates of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are individual, research shows they are largely systemic.
