We’re just heading into the Semi finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and whether you love or hate football, or looking at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar politically – football fever is real. Speaking of football fever, one man in Sydney comes to mind, Pablo Bateson. 

This man is the pure definition of a “football fan” and he backs the Socceroos. He’s attended roughly 90 World Cup qualifiers since 1973, including 47 consecutive matches between 2008 and 2017. He was offered an all expenses paid trip to Qatar as a “fan guest” (and like many celebrities) he turned it down, but that didn’t stop him from supporting the Socceroos.
