How the Paralympics affect our view of disability

In the light of the glamour of the recent Rio Olympics, you could be forgiven for not noticing that the Paralympics have come and gone. Created to allow disabled athletes to prove themselves alongside the Olympics, the paralympics has helped create a more social perspective on disability, rather than a medical one. But how effective has this been at changing the way we think about disability, and what other positives do the paralympics have? Lecturer David Roy from University of Newcastle, joined the show to talk about this.
