Australian’s being “bombarded” by gambling ads

Recent research shows there has been a rapid rise in gambling advertisements shown in Australia, over recent years, which has increased the uptake of gambling and the harm that goes with it.

According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, gambling causes harm including financial loss; family, relationship and career issues and impacts people’s physical and psychological health.

Gambling ads now span across almost every media platform including social media, with high rates of exposure to children and young adults.
