Film: Broker
Broker is a Korean-language film from Japanese Writer-Director Kore-eda Hirokazu, and stars Song Kang-ho best known for his role in Boon Jong-ho’s Parasite. The film follows two brokers who take babies left in anonymous church adoption boxes and sell them to affluent families who can’t have children of their own. They are surprised when a mother catches them in the act, wanting to make sure her child finds a good home. As they travel together across the country, pursued by two police officers trying to break up their adoption racket, the group form their own found family along the way.

Album: The Price of Progress The Hold Steady
The Hold Steady is a favourite of Wayne’s so it is no surprise that he is very excited about the release of their ninth studio album, The Price of Progress. The Brooklyn-based band follows their tradition of writing character-driven lyrics underscored by anthem-like music. Each song focuses on a new down-on-their-luck character, and encourages you to feel their plight.

Series: Julia
From HBO, Julia follows the career of home-cooking icon Julia Child, featuring an all-star cast including Sarah Lancashire, David Hyde-Pierce, and Bebe Neuwirth. Julia opens with Child pitching what would become her revolutionary television show which would create the cooking show genre, and follows its meteoric rise.

Album: The Record Boygenius
The ambitiously titled The Record is the highly-anticipated debut album from American indie-rock group Boygenius. The supergroup found themselves drawn to each other as they were all garnering early-career acclaim, almost forming a group by accident. Where their original EP was them “falling in love”, The Record is the reaffirmation of their affection and friendship – the music of a group who genuinely love each other.
