“Rushed” Removal may damage Indigenous Rock Engravings

Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation were not approached by The Wire for comment prior to the story going to air.

Three sacred Indigenous rock engravings  at Murujuga, Western Australia, were removed this month to make room for a new A$6.4 billion fertilizer facility.

Archeologists are concerned about this seemingly rushed operation which may damage the most important rock art site in the world and possibly the next Australian UNESCO World Heritage Site.
