Join Megan Cope to create art that will transform the Sydney Opera House

Drawing inspiration from Tubowgule as a historic place of ceremony, gathering and celebration in Aboriginal Australia, Quandamooka artist Megan Cope will transform the Sydney Opera House and you are invited to participate.

Megan’s site-specific sculptural installations, public art practice and paintings investigate issues relating to colonial histories, the environment and mapping practices. Her latest work not only celebrates the 50th birthday of the Sydney Opera House, but expands the narrative beyond the Opera House, connecting it with Land, Sky and Sea Country through a First Nations lens.

Information on how to get involved is available here.

Megan is also a member of proppaNOW, a Meanjin/Brisbane-based Aboriginal artist collective, aiming to counter cultural stereotypes and give a voice to urban artists. Their fist Sydney exhibition OCCURRENT AFFAIR opens this weekend at the National Art School.
