Spanish Film Festival – Carlos Saura
In February the Spanish film industry lost one of its titans, Carlos Sauna whose work is ranked alongside Luis Bunuel and Pedro Almodóvar in creating work that uniquely depicted aspects of Spanish culture and the universal human condition. To celebrate Saura’s contribution to cinema at the Spanish Film Festival there will be a retrospective screening some of his finest works. A scriptwriter, novelist, filmmaker, photographer and painter; Saura’s particular vision would spawn forty feature films over five decades. Stephen Hill talked to film producer Antonio Saura, the son of Antonio Saura about his creative legacy.
