English sounding names getting more job call backs

Australians with non-English names often feel less fortunate in finding jobs, and this is not just a coincidence given the current state of the economy.

New research from Monash University shows English sounding names get more call backs from job applications than from applicants with ethnic names.

The research also highlights there’s a pronounced discrimination when hiring someone in a leadership position.
