Get Away with Dre: Obstacle Courses to Conquer
This is where we talk about travel on a Tuesday to get you planning for not just the weekend but during the Winter School Holidays.
It’s the last week of the school holidays, and for some parents it’s been a bit of an obstacle course having to take the kids places and work at the same time. Or just constantly having to find activities to keep the kids entertained, keep them fit, healthy, and happy. So I thought, why not try a few physical obstacle courses? It’s a fun few hours outdoors, it keeps you mentally and physically stimulated – and it’s one for the kids and the adults to enjoy. Why not raise the stakes and verse each other?
- Tuff Nutterz, Centennial Park
This is Australia’s largest inflatable obstacle course and it travels around NSW & ACT! It’s currently at Centennial Park till this Sunday 16th July. They have 3 different game set-ups. The Tuff Nutterz Obstacle course (an epic 300m course), a mini obstacle course, and the Tuff Slide. It’s all inflatable, which makes falling over kinda fun and part of the fun. Be sure to book online for this one to avoid disappointment.
- Burns Outdoor Obstacle, Bringelly
Part-Ninja Warrior gym-part- army boot camp. It says it’s open for anybody over the age of 6, but looking at the course I would recommend it to anyone over the age of 10. They have 20 courses, plus a ninja zone. You need to book at least 2 hours before a session, and they have session times during the school holidays, as well as 1 – 3 hour time slot sessions out of school holidays. They also hold classes.
- Ninja 101, Prospect
It’s a fun one for all ages and designed for anyone to take on the Ninja Warrior obstacle course. It’s a padded course so falling over is less daunting. They hold classes as well at the Ninja Warrior Kids gym – designed to empower the kids, tackle fear and help build a strong mind and body. Book before you go.
- Koonoona Park, Villawood
The Fairfield council acquired 3,200 sqm of land, poured over $1 million into it, and turned it into a super park with an outdoor obstacle course. This means it’s completely free to take the kids. It has a first ever built ropes climbing course in NSW, as well as the usual park facilities.
- Casula Parklands, Casual
- Tru Ninja, Penrith
- My First Gym, Frenchs Forest
- Moving Bodies, Mount Ku-Ring-Gai
