RENEWABLE ENERGY UPDATE: Kiata Wind Farm Energy Capacity

In June this year an energy capacity factor record was set; The Kiata wind farm in Western Victoria reported a new record for 64.9% energy capacity factor for a single month. This stunning achievement for wind energy makes Kiata the top energy producing and conserving windfarm in Australia. Built in 2017 by wind energy firm Windlab, Kiata is now owned by Atmos Renewables after being bought in 2021. The farm has continued to improve it’s efficiency every year since its construction.

Dr. Matt Wright spoke with 2SER’s Jack Gembitsky about the significance of this record making achievement.
