Resistance training: More women to be included in exercise studies
A recent study on exercise, particularly resistance and strength training research, has found that most studies about exercise include male participants leaving out females in exercise research. Researchers, particularly women, want more females involved in exercise studies. Researcher Mandy Hagstrom suggests that exercise and strength training research needs more analysis examining sex differences during exercise. This will help us get the best out of exercise. Mandy Hagstrom is a senior lecturer in exercise physiology at UNSW Sydney. She joined us on The Monday Daily to discuss her latest study on resistance exercise and including more female participants.
