A Deep Dive into Greta Gerwig’s Barbieland

After much anticipation and lots of marketing, the Barbie movie has been out for a few weeks now. Women and girls have raced to the cinemas the last few weeks dressed in pink and reliving their childhood experiences on screen. Greta Gerwig’s Barbie captivates the audience.  Vivid colours, catchy songs, and the fashion is everything we ever hoped for in a Barbie film. Greta is not new to directing with films such as Lady Bird & Little Women. These films focus on girlhood, which is also exactly what we feel in Barbie. Known for her independent style, moviegoers got a sense of Greta’s unique filmmaking approach and understood the messages presented in Barbie. If you open Tik Tok right now, you will see girls capturing girlhood moments with the song – What Was I Made For by Billie Eilish. This Tik Tok movement is evidence the Barbie film is bringing girls together.
