Good360: redistributing unsold goods to help those in need
Mountains of unsold consumer goods are heading to landfill amid the cost-of-living crisis.
According to the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics data, household spending is down by 3.3 per cent in the last 12 months. However, much of that spending went towards rent and vehicle sales, where there have been supply backlogs since the pandemic.
Good360, is a charity redirecting unsold consumer goods to Australians in need.
They’ve seen a 20 percent increase in the volume of new unsold consumer goods donated in the last year, and say this is a sure sign of the cost-of-living crisis starting to bite, as consumers spend less and businesses need to get rid of unsold stock.
