Federal government needs to regulate tobacco licensing fees

A new research published in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Public Health found a link between the increase of tobacco licensing fees and the decrease of tobacco retailers.

The case study was South Australia, which increased the tobacco licensing from A$13 to A$200 in 2007, and since then, a 24 per cent decrease in tobacco retailers.

Organisations are calling the Federal government to introduce a national uniform tobacco licensing regulation to reduce tobacco sellers and smokers too.
