The Boy of Many Colors (S/T)

The Feature Album this week is the self-titled debut record from Byron-based multidisciplinary artist Coede Ochre Warrah McCarthy, aka The Boy of Many Colors.  Born in Koonorigan on Bunjalung  country,  McCarthy  grew up with many elders teaching him culture, dance and art.

A growing interest in Hip Hop music lead him to combining ancient knowledge with modern forms in his solo sound and this is an excellent collection of direct and conscious rap that is rooted in hip hop forms while confronting the aftermath of colonisation through the lens of traditional storytelling.
