The Way On is the Way Off – The Native Cats on 2SER Breakfast
The Native Cats are a post-punk duo from nipaluna/Hobart, who have been active for 15 years and have during that time established themselves as the spiritual forebears to the current wave of speak-singing post-punk.
Their latest record, The Way On is the Way Off continues this tradition of excellence and innovation. It’s also the Feature Album on 2SER, a record driven by raw minimalist instrumentation, menacing basslines and dark, theatrical spoken-word lyricism.
Chloe Alison Escott, singer and electronics operator for The Native Cats joined 2SER to discuss the new record and how community radio was integral to their formation.
