AFL players launch historic $1B concussion lawsuit

Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy or CTE, is a brain disease found in people with a history of repetitive head impacts often incurred during contact sports and other activities that involve repeated blows to the head.

A group of former AFL players are seeking up to 1 billion dollars in compensation in a landmark class action lodged against the AFL, for the serious damage concussions have allegedly caused them.

This case and others like it have forced a Senate inquiry into CTE and how the AFL and NRL can do more to stop it.
