Let’s End Domestic Violence Vigil

Hope and Heal will be holding a vigil to honour the women in children killed by violence in Australia, on this Friday, 24th of November, 2023 at 4pm at the forecourt of Customs House, Circular Quay.

The Vigil will include special guest speakers such as Jodie Harrison, MP – the NSW Minister for Women and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, as well as advocates and survivors.
According to the Bureau of Statistics 2 in 5 women in Australia have experienced domestic violence since the age of 15.

Hope and Heal founder, Nadine Taylor,  who will be speaking at the event, had the following to say in the lead-up to the vigil:

“The women who have been murdered this year presents a devastating record of the extent of violence against women in our community. And on top of each of these tragic deaths, many, many other women and children are living in fear of the threat or presence of violence. One woman murdered is one woman too many. It’s time to say Enough is Enough.”
