Conservationists welcome wind farm’s veto in Victoria

This week, Federal Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek vetoed an offshore wind farm in Victoria, claiming there are ‘irreversible’ risks to endangered wildlife in the area.

The Port of Hastings plan was proposed by the Victorian government, and it would have become the first offshore wind farm in Australia.

Conservationists have welcomed the decision, and The Wire’s Eduardo Jordan asked Nature campaigner from the Victorian National Parks Association Shannon Hurley, to explain more about the project.
