Regulator assesses BP’s drilling plans for Great Aussie Bight

Australia’s offshore petroleum industry regulator will decide this week whether to grant BP’s application to drill in the Great Australian Bight. In the event of an oil blowout, BP has proposed using a capping stack from Singapore to stop the disaster, which could take up to 35 days transport and cap the well. But is this fast enough?
