Proposed inquiry into gender affirming care in SA defeated
An attempt for an Australian-first parliamentary inquiry into gender dysphoria and care has been defeated in South Australia.
Yesterday independent MLC, Frank Pangallo withdrew the motion just hours later with SA Government and some crossbenchers opposing support.
Mr Pangallo in his speech last November says gender affirming procedures are complex and controversial, affecting several issues such as family and mental health.
An advocate says while the trans community remains positive with the outcome, more work and support are needed.
