Celebrating Radio – Radio 100 Launches a New Chapter for World Radio Day
Since it burst onto Australian airwaves a century ago, radio has shaped our cultural identity and has been the soundtrack to our lives.
13 February 2024 is World Radio Day, an opportunity to celebrate radio as a medium. In 2024, World Radio Day aims to shine a light on radio’s remarkable past, relevant present and promise of a dynamic future, and the National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA) is ready to celebrate, on this day launching All the Voices, the latest chapter from its Radio 100 digital exhibition, celebrating the emergence of different communities on Australian radio from the 1970s onwards.
NFSA curator Crispian Winsor joined 2SER Breakfast to discuss all things to do with celebrating the medium of radio.
